Dr. Carlos I. Lasa, Jr. Dr. Carlos I. Lasa, Jr. completed Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency Training at the University of the Philippines-Philippine General Hospital Medical Center. He then proceeded to Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A. for fellowship training in cosmetic surgery. His mentor, Dr. John Lewis, was the founder and first president of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. While in Atlanta, Dr. Lasa also had the opportunity to observe the cosmetic surgeries of world renowned plastic surgeons like Dr. Foad Nahai, Dr. John Bostwick, and Dr. Carl Harttrumpf, at the Emory University Hospital.

After completion of his fellowship training in Atlanta, Dr. Lasa proceeded to complete a second fellowship training program at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, under the tutelage of Dr. Bahman Guyuron, a distinguished plastic surgeon in the field of aesthetic surgery and craniomaxillofacial surgery and Department Chairman of Plastic Surgery at Mt. Sinai.

Dr. Lasa later worked as a surgical associate at the Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia, where he was able to train under the leading plastic surgeons in the metropolitan tri-state areas of Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia. Concurrently, Dr. Lasa was also chosen to organize and head the pioneering bone research program of the American Red Cross Tissue Services based at the Holland Laboratory for the Biomedical Sciences in Rockville, Maryland.

Dr. Lasa is Board Certified by the Philippine Board of Plastic Surgery which is the only specialty board for cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery recognized by the Philippine College of Surgeons. He was elected as a member of the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in 2008. In 2009, he was elected as an International Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is currently the President of the Philippine Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, the National Secretary representing the Philippines in the Oriental Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery and the Training Officer for Plastic Surgery at the St.Luke's Medical Center, Quezon City.

Dr. Lasa has authored several research papers which have been published in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal, the most prestigious and widely read plastic surgery journal in the world. He has been invited as speaker in various international conferences and to keep updated on new developments in the field of plastic surgery, he regularly attends various seminars worldwide, where new techniques in plastic and cosmetic surgery are introduced.
